The Process
01. Cloth Selection
Your custom garment begins with the most essential decision: cloth selection. We source exclusively from the world's finest mills—producers with decades of heritage and uncompromising standards. From the rolling hills of northern Italy to the workshops of Yorkshire, each fabric has been selected not merely for beauty, but for construction quality, durability, and the way it will age in your hands. When you visit, you'll encounter swatches that represent the pinnacle of textile craftsmanship. We discuss weight, weave, color, and personality. The cloth you choose becomes the foundation upon which everything else is built. This first step is where intention meets possibility.
02. Personal Expression
With your cloth selected, we move into the realm of creative customization. Every detail is yours to control—the style of lapel, the number and placement of buttons, pocket configurations, vent styles, and lining choices. Perhaps you want mother-of-pearl buttons; perhaps you prefer horn. Maybe you envision a silk lining with a subtle pattern, or a refined monogram on the interior chest pocket. This is where your garment becomes unmistakably yours. Our team guides you through each decision, explaining how choices affect proportion, silhouette, and long-term wearability. The result is not a generic suit or jacket, but a deeply personal expression of your aesthetic and values.
03. Precision Construction
Once specifications are locked, your garment enters our workshop where master craftspeople transform fabric into form. We begin with pattern drafting—creating a bespoke pattern based on your exact measurements and proportions. Every seam is then hand-sewn by experienced tailors who understand the subtle geometry of jacket construction. The full canvas chest is hand-stitched to ensure it will develop character over years of wear. The lapels are pad-stitched with precision. Every button is set with intention. Buttonholes are carefully worked by hand. The lining is installed to allow for natural movement and comfort. This is not a factory process—it is the accumulated knowledge of experienced craftspeople, working in service of your garment. This takes time, because precision cannot be rushed.
04. Final Fitting
Your garment returns for multiple fittings—a critical phase where precision meets the human body. During your first fitting, we evaluate the foundational fit: how the jacket sits on your shoulders, the length of the sleeves, the pitch of the front, and the overall balance of proportions. Adjustments are made with surgical precision. You'll return for a second fitting to confirm these changes, and often a third to refine details—perhaps shortening the jacket by a quarter inch, or narrowing the shoulders by half an inch. By the time your garment is complete, it will fit your body as if it was made specifically for you, which it was. This is the final commitment to excellence: we do not release a garment until it achieves perfection.
